Mirage—Salmon/Steelhead Spoon
Introducing Mirage—A shimmering, color‑shifting spoon that reads like a mirage in the water: various shades of blue are perfectly blended and layered into a shifty, color‑changing piece of art that confuses the eye and entices the bite. A gradient of teal candy paint flecked with gold glitter melts into holographic turquoise that flashes every color of the rainbow, appearing like a pool oasis wavering in the desert. Yet another shade finishes the front—a chameleon blue rim along the spoon’s edge adds dimensional depth while the pale iridescent blue on the back of the spoon flashes like a baitfish. Like a heat‑rippled mirage, the paint bends and refract light—mimicking the deceptive shimmer and motion of real baitfish—so curious fish can’t help but strike. The blue palette imitates common prey such as anchovy, sardine, blue mackerel, silverside, and juvenile herring, giving this spoon the visual cues predators expect while standing out in bright sun, low light, or turbulent water. Hand‑painted, durable, and tuned to trick both eye and light, this spoon is engineered to make fish question reality and commit to the strike.
Each spoon is hand painted in California with epoxy powder paint that provides an ultra-durable, highly resistant protective shell-ensuring they will withstand the toughest fishing conditions without losing their vibrant finish. As always, each lure is meticulously fitted with premium hardware. For Salmon and Steelhead targeting we have used Gamakatsu “Big River” barbed sickle hooks, guaranteeing exceptional performance and reliability on every cast. You may know that we usually use barbless hooks, but hundreds of anglers have requested barbed hooks for our Salmon/Steelhead spoons since many California, Oregon, and Washington rivers permit barbed hooks. Obviously the barb can be crimped if you simply prefer barbless or if barbless is required in the waterway you are fishing…each river and tributary has different rules and regulations, but this gives you two options. Throw Mirage on your line and be ready to fool some fish with a vision so real they cant resist.
